Joomla Integrated With Ruby on Rails

Joomla is an easy to implement "out of the box" Open Source Content Management System (CMS) with many professional quality template options and extendability through an incredible open source community.

Rails, or more specifically, Ruby on Rails, is a powerful Open Source web framework for custom development that provides capability far beyond what can reasonably or easily be accomplished within Joomla.

Rails could provide the capabilities necessary for some, but it does not have the template support or simple content management system available with Joomla. Joomla can be very quick to get up and running and extended, but it is not an ideal programming environment for many custom needs.

A marriage of Joomla with Rails would provide both the easy of use and implementation of Joomla with the incredible power and flexibility of Rails. Of course, like any marriage, there is some complexity involved... OK, check that, this marriage may involve more then just "some complexity".

This website is not a tutorial... it is not a company charging for services... it is just a website where we will publicly explore this option and hope to find some others willing to share their knowledge and chip in... we'll see where the rest takes us...
